Committee member – This group is just plain fun! Help make plans from the beginning! Share ideas
to improve each year’s event. New members are always welcome! Fresh blood helpful and encouraged!
Work site leader - Supervise youth to build a wheelchair ramp, paint a home, roof a home, general repairs, yard work, or whatever the Lord sends us to do. Some experience helpful.
Adult worker on work site – Help with work and supervising of youth. No experience required.
Meals – The menus are already planned. The food is already bought. The Meals Coordinator will direct you. Help in the kitchen and/or serve food buffet style. No experience required.
Overnight Chaperone – Bring your sleeping bag (air mattresses welcome!) and sleep in the student
area. We need many volunteers for these positions. Get to know better some of our terrific youth.
Again, no experience needed! Can you say, “Lights out”?
Transportation – Use your automobile or church van to transport youth to and from worksites, to showers, and back to church. Driver’s license and insurance required!
Shower Monitor – Ice down water, check youth in and out at showers. No-brainer!
Registration - Help check in students on opening day.
Greeter - On opening day, direct student’s to their sleeping areas to place their belongings. If you can point and smile, you can do this job.
Covered Dish Lunch Volunteer – Help with the setup and/or cleanup of the final meal. You’ve probably already done this before, and it will be most appreciated!
Work site runner/Zone Runner – This person will be a “go for” for our Zone Captains - picking up
supplies, running tools to another site, etc. Need vehicle, driver’s license and insurance.
Phone Volunteer-Prior to the event you will make reminder phone calls to those that have volunteered or the event.
Luminary set-up and take down – Help prepare sand bag luminaries and place them along a specified path (with some guidance of course). You will also help to take the luminaries down after the Saturday night worship service.
Housekeeping - Help keep the sleeping areas straightened up and trash free.
Chaperone –Monitor activity taking place in the gym once students return from worksites.
Snack Preparer – You will be the teenagers’ best friend! Pick a night, come prepare a simple snack for the group, and tidy up afterwards. Food will be provided; you don’t even have to decide what to fix!
Snack time is after worship.
Grocery Runner - We need a couple of people to pick up supplies during the River of Life. We will give you a list of our needs and even where to pick them up. This is a very important job!
